By winning the Section 8AA girls golf championship Tuesday in Bemidji the Otters girls’ golf team turned a page in the record books by becoming the first team in the school’s history to qualify for the Class AA state tournament to be held Tuesday and Wednesday at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.

MENAHGA — A few ill timed mistakes gave the upperhand to the hosting Menahga Braves in a Section 8AA playoff game against the Fergus Falls baseball team Tuesday as the Braves picked up a 2-0 win.

THIEF RIVER FALLS — The Fergus Falls baseball team saw a game against the Thief River Falls Prowlers slip away Thursday as the host picked up a 10-4 victory.

The Fergus Falls Otters baseball team came up a sliver short against Bemidji Tuesday as the Otters fell to the Lumberjacks 3-1.

A barrage of runs were scored in the first three innings of Tuesday’s home game for the Fergus Falls softball team as they hosted the Thief River Falls Prowlers. The Otters could not keep up with the Prowlers as they picked up a 19-4 victory.

ST. CLOUD — The Fergus Falls girls’ golf team took the course at St. Cloud Town & Country Club in a Central Lakes Conference meet Thursday. The Otters would battle with the course throughout the day as they finished in fourth place with a team score of 382.

LITTLE FALLS — The Fergus Falls baseball team traveled to play a pair of games against Little Falls and Detroit Lakes Friday. Errors and absence of clutch hitting  saw the Otters fall behind their opponents in both games.

The Fergus Falls girls’ golf team hosted a Central Lakes Conference meet at Pebble Lake Golf Course Thursday. Battling both the course and the weather, the Otters finished third in a very tough field.

New York Mills varsity is the West Central (North) Conference regular season champion, with Detroit Lakes finishing second.  Fergus Falls JV Black took their first loss of the season, but finished on top of the JV division.

The Fergus Falls track and field teams played host to the Willmar Cardinals Thursday at the Kennedy Secondary track. The Otters would have several individual standout performances, but the visiting Cardinals would take both the boys’ and girls’ meets.
