The Fergus Falls volleyball team closed out its 2020 season at home as it welcomed in the Rocori Spartans. After a four-set match the night before, the Otters ran out of gas as the Spartans swept the match 25-18, 25-23, 25-15.

It was announced Sunday that the Fergus Falls Otters football game against East Grand Forks has been canceled after Fergus Falls was notified of a positive COVID case on the team.

PERHAM — The hosting Perham football team found the end zone four times in the first half as the Yellowjackets stung the Fergus Falls Otters 34-8 Wednesday.

WILLMAR — The Fergus Falls volleyball team traveled to take on Central Lakes Conference foe Willmar Monday. The hosting Cardinals would prove to be a tough opponent as they swept the Otters 25-15, 25-12, 25-17.

The Fergus Falls football team recognized its seniors Friday as the Otters hosted the Pequot Lakes Patriots.The Patriots’ Bode Magnuson would lead the visitor to a 18-7 victory over the Otters.

DETROIT LAKES — Battling recent snow and wind, the Fergus Falls football team took on their rival Detroit Lakes Lakers Friday. Despite recording three interceptions, the Otters could not stop the Lakers offense as the home team left the field with a 24-0 victory.

THIEF RIVER FALLS — In a low scoring affair, the visiting Fergus Falls football team outgained the Thief River Falls Prowlers but did not outscore their hosts as the Otters fell 7-6 Thursday.

The Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team had its season cut short Tuesday as the hosting Detroit Lakes Lakers  topped the Otters 2-1 in the Section 8A playoffs.

MOORHEAD — The Fergus Falls girls’ tennis team traveled to Moorhead for Section 8AA postseason play Tuesday against the hosting Spuds. In their third consecutive match, Moorhead would escape with another 4-3 victory, sending the Otters into the consolation bracket.

In a Thursday showdown in the pool, the hosting Fergus Falls girls’ swimming and diving team had many impressive performances, but it would be the visiting Alexandria Cardinals that left the pool with a 114-70 victory.

ALEXANDRIA — The Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team closed out its regular season Thursday as the Otters traveled to take on the Alexandria Cardinals. The host would find an offensive surge in the second half as the Cardinals defeated the Otters 3-1.

MOORHEAD — The Fergus Falls girls’ swimming and diving team swam hard and fast Tuesday, but the hosting Moorhead Spuds got out a solid lead and held on for a 96-82 victory.

The Fergus Falls girls’ tennis team welcomed in the Willmar Cardinals for a dual Tuesday at Broadway Park. It was an absolute nailbiter, coming down to a decisive third set in the final match on court as the visiting Cardinals edged the Otters 4-3.

WILLMAR — The Fergus Falls boys’ soccer team held strong in the first half, but the hosting Willmar Cardinals would breakthrough in the second half with six goals to pick up a 7-0 victory Tuesday.
