The Eagles Aerie #2339 sponsored Fergus Falls Bantam B team hosted District 15 competition over the weekend. They captured one win of the three games. Throughout the weekend nothing proved more consistent than goaltender Brady Metclaf who blocked an amazing 152 shots for the weekend with ease, grace and what seems like little effort. Many people took notice of this standout goalie.
Friday the Otters welcomed rival Alexandria Bantam B to their ice. Alex came out with a win. Metcalf blocked a whopping 64 shots.
Saturday the Otters welcomed another tough rival Little Falls, the Otters came out with a win. Landon Schulz sent one in the back of the net with a solid pass from Avery Kenyon-Woessner on a power play.
Schulz saw the back of the net again in the second period with assist from Wyatt Briese and Kenyon-Woessner. Kenyon-Woessner tallied his own power-play goal with another assist from Biese in the second. Schulz tallied up a hat trick in the second with assists going to Kenyon-Woessner and Hayden Lappegaard.
Schulz and Milton Tungseth set Kenyon-Woessner up for the goal that put the Otters on top in the third period. Metcalf stopped 49 shots on his net. Otters finished with a win 5-4.
Sunday brought the best out in the Fergus Falls Bantam B’s, they played a smart, conscious and strong defensive game against the Moorhead Bantam B Orange. The Otters held Moorhead off in the first period thanks to strong defensive thinking from Andrew Heacox, Luke Norgard, Riley McGovern and Briese. The forwards had many opportunities and did not back off from peppering the Moorhead goalie with some valiant efforts from Davis Shol, Tungseth, Gavin Goepferd and Evan Bowman. Lappegaard was able to tip one in with a nice pass from Kenyon-Woessner. Though the Otters took a loss, they played competitive and did not give up, playing a strong game. Metcalf stopped 39 shots from coming into the Otter net on Sunday.
