The Fergus Falls boys’ hockey team punched their ticket to the Holiday Hockey Classic championship game against Detroit Lakes at the Community Arena on Thursday (Dec. 30) at 4 p.m., by defeating Kittson County Central on Wednesday 8-4.

“Ryan Nelson got his first varsity win in the net for us. Cole Zierden, Kellen (Stenstrom) and (Landon) Thacker had a great night scoring the first five goals for us. Cole had a hat trick and Kellen scored two. Kittson made it 5-4 at the end of the second and we came out with three in the third led by (Michael) DeBrito’s two goals and Isaac Johnson with the other one,” said Otters head coach Mike Donaghue. “Andrew Johnson had three assists in the game and we also scored three PP goals.”

The Otters now improve to 9-2 on the season as they gear up for tonight’s (Dec.30) championship matchup.
