The Fergus Falls gymnastics team opened their season on the right foot Tuesday as they defeated the Morris Tigers 126.975-114.35.

Ashlyn Fronning had a great meet for the Otters winning the all-around events with a 34.05, placing first in the balance beam (8.9), uneven bars (7.85) and floor routine (8.9), and finishing second in the vault (8.5). Teammate Kellen Frigaard (8.725) won the vault.

Other top placers for the Otters included Madison Muchow on the uneven bars (second, 7.7) and vault (fourth, 8.35), Isabelle Strege in the floor routine (second, 8.25), Aubrey Seedorf in the uneven bars (third, 7.4), Karolyn Papon in the balance beam (third, 7.6), Abigail Strege in the uneven bars (fourth, 7.2) and Olivia Trout in all-around events (fourth, 28.9).

The Otter JV also won 113.75-100.05. One highlight for the team came from Abigail Gronwold (8.0) as she finished first in the balance beam.

The Otters next meet will be at 6 p.m. Thursday against the hosting Moorhead Spuds.
