The West Central Area girls' basketball team cut the nets down in Fergus Falls Thursday as the Knights defeated the Henning Hornets 64-53 to win the Section 6A title and advance to the Class A state tournament.

HENNING — The Henning boys’ basketball team cruised a 62-40 victory over Lake Park-Audubon in the Section 6A playoffs Thursday.

HENNING — The Hillcrest girls’ basketball team’s season came to an end Wednesday as the hosting Henning Hornets defeated the Comets 71-32 in the Section 6A playoffs.

The Henning boys’ basketball team had a strong night from the floor as they made 26-for-53 shots on the way to a 59-54 victory over the Pillager Huskies Tuesday.

The Otter Tail Central Bulldog wrestling team went 2-1 as they wrestled the last two home meets of the year and look to close out the year on the road at the end of February. 

HENNING — The Underwood girls’ basketball team could not find its groove Saturday as the hosting Henning Hornets picked up a 63-43 victory.

NEW YORK MILLS — The Henning boys’ basketball team struggled to get into an offensive rhythm as the hosting New York Mills Eagles claimed a 61-32 victory Friday.

BATTLE LAKE — The West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville wrestling team picked up a dual victory over the Otter Tail Central Bulldogs 63-13 Thursday.



WADENA — Despite offensive struggles, the Henning boys’ basketball team picked up a double-digit victory over the hosting Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines 52-40 victory Tuesday.

PILLAGER — The Henning boys’ basketball team traveled Friday to take on the Pillager Huskies. A big first half by the home team put the Hornets in a hole that they couldn’t get out of as the Huskies claimed a 69-54 win.

MENAHGA — The Henning boys basketball team built a 17-point halftime lead in a road game against Menahga Tuesday and cranked up the defense in the second half to cruise to an 81-39 victory.

HENNING — A strong ground performance by the Otter Tail Central football team Wednesday saw two running backs rush for over 100 yards and the home team pick up a 30-19 victory over the Hawley Nuggets.

BATTLE LAKE — The Bulldogs would score first as quarterback Tanner Arndt took off for a 65-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Arndt would take in the two-point conversion to put OTC up 8-0.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Henning girls’ basketball team saw the sharpshooting of Megan Weber give them  an early lead as the Hornets downed the Fillmore Central Falcons 69-56 Thursday in the Class A state quarterfinal at the University of Minnesota’s Maturi Pavilion.

As the Minnesota State High School League’s (MSHLS) winter sports season is coming to a close with section and state playoffs, the MSHSL announced that it would be limiting attendees to the remaining slate of tournament games beginning Friday.
