MINNEAPOLIS — The Henning boys’ basketball team claimed the Class A Minnesota State Boys’ Basketball championship Saturday as they defeated Northwoods 67-42 at the Target Center.

Henning was off and running in the first half, building a lead by as many as 25 points before settling on a 36-17 advantage at the half. Hitting cruise control in the second half, the Hornets swarmed the Grizzlies, outscoring them 31-25 in the remainder of the game.

Sam Fisher led the Hornets in scoring with 22 points, while teammates Parker Fraki (13) and Blake Wallevand (12) were also in double figures.

Sam Fisher, Isaac Fisher and Fraki were named to the All-Tournament team.

This is the Hornets first state title as they finish the season with a 31-1 record.
