HENNING — The Henning volleyball team took care of business Tuesday in its season opener as it handed the Underwood Rockets a three-set loss 25-9, 25-13, 25-19.

“We didn’t have a very good start to the season,” Rockets head coach Diane Ross said. “We got off to a bad start and couldn’t recover.  By the third set, we were getting good touches on defense and got a bit of our offense going.

“Henning has a very aggressive team, I give them a lot of credit.”

Brooke Hovland led the Rockets attack going 16-for-17 with four kills and two ace serves. Teammate Ceri Meech added two aces, while Kayla Rocholl had 11 digs and Shaynah Smith and Ally Johnson each added two blocks.

The Rockets will look to rebound as they host Ashby Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
