The Hillcrest girls’ basketball team fell in their season opener 66-23 to Heritage Christian Academy Friday.

“We had a tough matchup for our first game,” Comets head coach Hannah Clark said. “Heritage Christian Academy is an athletic, well coached team. They ran the floor extremely well and had players that could score in every position. Their length gave us problems the entire game. We had a tough time moving the ball around the perimeter and I felt that we rushed a lot of our shots.”

Mackenzie Foss was the lone Comets player in double figures in scoring with 12 points.
