Traveling to Wheaton this past Friday, the Hillcrest girls basketball team could not keep up with host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (WHN), falling 70-34. “We played flat and lacked defensive intensity,” stated coach Hannah Clark, “we let WHN get too comfortable and they were able to knock down their shots and they shot 66% from the field compared to our 30%.”

Ruby Peterson paced Hillcrest with 10 points in the contest and Madi Foss had eight points/four assists. “Offensively I thought we had some great possessions with good ball movement, we just couldn’t put the ball through the hoop,’ said Clark. It was the second loss in a row for the squad, falling to 3-5 on the season. In three of those five losses, Hillcrest girls have failed to get over 35 points in the game.

Hillcrest will be back in action on Tuesday, traveling to take on Underwood. They have a busy weekend upcoming, hosting Battle Lake on Friday and then traveling to Moorhead on Saturday to face off against Park Christian.
