ROTHSAY — The Hillcrest volleyball team traveled up Interstate 94 Thursday to facedown Rothsay in a four-set matchup that saw the Comets tame the Tigers 25-22, 25-16, 19-25 and 25-12.

Everyone contributed to tonight’s win!  With a team totals of 35 kills, 14 ace serves, and a solid pass rating we were finally able to get the W,” said Comets head coach Debi Foss. “We were able to spread out our offense and mix up our attacks. Our blocking also showed improvement  tonight. I felt like we did a better job of adjusting to our errors and making adjustments.  Great job team!”

Stat leaders for the Comets were Henrietta Ruud (14 set assists, 5 aces, 1 kill, 10 digs), Madison Ballweg (1 set assist, 10 digs), Anna Brumfield (3 aces, 5 kills, 4 digs, 1 set assist, 4 blocks), Natalie Zwiers (4 kills, 1 block), Emily Adams (7 kills, 5 digs, 1 ace, 2 blocks), Abby Heikes (1 ace, 7 digs), Hope Adams (9 kills, 2 aces, 2 digs, 3 blocks), Madi Foss (7 kills, 14 set assists, 6 digs) and Ella Knutson (2 aces, 2 kills, 10 digs, 1 block).

The Comets will now host a conference matchup against Ashby on Saturday at 1 p.m.
