The Hillcrest volleyball team celebrated a return to its home court Thursday as the Comets welcome in Little Eight Conference opponent Brandon-Evansville. The Chargers spoiled the celebration as they left the court with a 25-11, 25-9, 25-17 victory.

“The Chargers hit the ball extremely well tonight and we had a hard time getting a block on their hitters,” Comets head coach Debi Foss said. “We played “reactionary” instead of controlling the ball on our side of the net. On the bright side, we had a chance to honor our four seniors tonight as well as recognize the eight Norwegian exchange students who have been playing volleyball this fall.”

Hope Adams, Marie Ruud and Madi Foss each had three kills, while teammates Mackenzie Foss and Madi Foss each had nine digs.

The Comets will continue their homestand as they take on LEC foe Ashby at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
