DETROIT LAKES — The Hillcrest boys’ soccer team was defeated by the Detroit Lakes Lakers Thursday 4-0.
Three first-half goals and another in the second half, by the Lakers, pushed the Comets into their third straight loss.
“We struggled tonight with DL’s speed on their big field,” Comets head coach Rod Jensen said. “Obviously, it’s disappointing going into next week’s start of the section tournament with three straight losses over the past week. Senior co-captain keeper, Zajen McArton, was injured in the second half and had to come out of the game. We are hoping he will be able to come back and keep the remainder of the season.”
The Comets now 5-5-1, take on the East Grand Forks, Saturday in a doubleheader with the ladies with both games starting at 2 p.m.
