UNDERWOOD —After splitting the first two sets, the hosting Underwood volleyball team rebounded to pick up the next two and claim a victory over Little Eight Conference foe Hillcrest 25-16, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21 Thursday.
“It was a definite game of momentum tonight, and just when you thought you had something going, the tide would switch,” Rockets head coach Diane Ross said. “We passed the ball pretty well tonight, and that’s a good sign. We are still working on controlling the parts of the game we can control. Hillcrest plays a hustling defense and caught us off balance a few times.”
Brooke Hovland had a strong night for the home team as she recorded 15 kills, three ace serves and 14 digs. Kayla Rocholl added 12 kills and 17 digs. Ally Johnson added 10 kills and six ace blocks.
The Rockets will travel to compete in the Ada tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Comets will travel to Pelican Rapids for a tournament starting at 9 a.m.
