The Pelican Rapids boys’ soccer team cruised past the hosting Hillcrest Comets 7-1 Saturday.
The Vikings built a two-goal lead before the Comets responded as Kristian Meastad connected on a free kick outside the box at the 34-minute mark. Pelican Rapids would add another goal before the break to go up 3-1.
The second half saw the Vikings knock in four-unanswered goals on the way to the win.
“They are a good team with quick ball movement,” Comets head coach Rod Jensen said. “Our lack of ball pressure let them pick us apart, time and time again this afternoon.”
The Comets now 5-3-1 on the season and will host the Fergus Falls Otters at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
