ROTHSAY — The Henning boys’ basketball team got its season off to a good start as it defeated the hosting Rothsay Tigers 74-41 Tuesday.

The Hornets would build a 40-24 halftime lead, but the Tigers would cut the lead to nine points midway through the second half. Henning would find its offensive groove and regain control for the win.

The Hornets saw five players in double figures including Isaac Fisher (15), Tanner Arndt (13), Blake Wallevand (12), Brandon Trana (12) and Parker Fraki (10).

Colby Larson led the way for the Tigers as he recorded a double-double scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 boards. Teammate Tanner Heier added 11 points.

The Hornets will open their home season against the Underwood Rockets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Tigers will look to rebound as they travel to take on Park Rapids at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
