ELBOW LAKE — On Tuesday, area teams hit the course in a Quad County Conference meet at Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course in Elblow Lake.
The West Central Area boys’ team would take first in the meet with a score of 333. The Hillcrest Comets (357) would take runner-up honors followed by Underwood (370), Border West (378), Ortonville (392) and Otter Tail Central (342).
West Central was led on the links by Grant Beukens (second, 75), while the rest of the team scorers placed in the top six including Marshall Dewey (fourth, 85), Mitch Dewey (fifth, 86) and Tate Christenson
“Grant had a solid round with a 75 and then to see the next five guys at 85,86,87,88 and 89 is awesome,” Knights head coach Kraig Hunter said. “That depth has helped us all year because on any given day, any of them could post one of the four team scores. If someone is having an off day, their teammates will be there to pick them up.”
Hillcrest’s Joel Quam took third in the meet with an 83, while Bryce Garbinski (89), Ben Christenson (90) and Micah Foss (95) completed the team scoring. Trey Carl (96) and Evan Olstad (99) also competed for the Comets at the meet.
Underwood’s Trevor Swonger (71) won individual medalist honors in the meet. Hudson Risbruite (93), Landon Ecker (100) and Jackson Swonger (106) completed the team scoring.
OTC would finish in sixth with Carter Dilly shooting a team high 91. Nathan Hillman (102), Riley Bode (102) and Tanner Arndt (109) finished the scoring for the Bulldogs.
The Rothsay Tigers were led on the course by Karter Jensen with a score of 90. Carson Weiers (103), Conrad Stockinger (105) and Sam Danielson (115) rounded out the team scoring , while Travis Shirley (137) and Mason Kadel (146) posted individual scores.
Ashby saw two golfers compete in Ethan Johnsrud (101) and Cooper Peterson (108).
In the Quad County girls’ meet, OTC ran away with the win shooting a team score of 285.
Hillcrest (322) would finish in second, followed by Ashby (331) and West Central Area (355).
Hillcrest’s Audra Ewan (92) received medalist honors, while teammates Annie Claney (97) and Bri Lang (133) rounded out the team score.
The meet-winning Bulldogs were led by Ady Tysdal (92), Megan Weber (96) and Makena Kenyon (97) as the trio finished second, third and fourth. Madi Ness (106) and Janie Lhotek (129) also competed for OTC at the meet.
Celi Nelson (100) led Ashby on the links, with Ashley Hill (102) and Lilly Evavold (129) completing the team score. Emma Ericksen (132) also competed for the Arrows.
Lexi Hunter (110), Joelle Toso (116) and Miley Loe (129) made up the West Central Area team score, while Jenna Jonsrud (132) and Aubrie Schroeder (140) also carded scores for the Knights.
The Underwood Rockets saw Amber Frigard (104) and Maddie Hoen (106) compete in the meet.
