WORTHY FINISH

M State women's golfer Audra Ewan placed second at the Lady Jay Invite in Worthington Wednesday.

WORTHINGTON — The M State women's golf team competed in the Lady Jay Invite Wednesday at the Worthington Golf Course and left their mark as the Spartans' Audra Ewan finished second overall with a score of 100. Taking medalist honors was Alexandria Technical & Community College's Abby Hamman, who finished with a 79.

“Audra continues to impress me with her play. She hit many quality shots and the only thing that held her back was some big numbers on a few of the holes," said Spartans head coach Jason Retzlaff. "She drove the ball very well today and executed a lot of great chip shots around the green. We are looking forward to a fun trip to Wisconsin next week for the region.”

The combined Spartan golf team will compete in the Region XIII national qualifier at Prairie du Chien Golf Course in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Monday and Tuesday with the start time to be announced.

Notable scores:

1.Abby Hamman- Alex Tech 79

2.Audra Ewan- M State 100

3.Jenna Stetz- Alex Tech 105
