MOORHEAD — The M State football team struggled to get going Sunday as the hosting Concordia College JV team topped the Spartans 6-2.

Neither team could find the endzone in the first half. The Cobbers JV finally struck in the third quarter as John Simon rushed in a 5-yard touchdown. Concordia attempted to go for two, but Dacari Dickens would pick off the passing attempt and take it all the way to the other endzone for two points. The score would remain unchanged the rest of the way.

Devaughn Prince recorded an interception for M State, while Moises Duran (6 ½), Kyangelo Robinson (5 ⅕) and Joshua Mitchell (5) led the Spartans in tackles.

The Spartans will continue their road excursion as they travel to Worthington to take on Minnesota West at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
