The M State volleyball team closed out its regular season with a 3-1 (25-9, 26-24, 22-25, 25-21) victory over Minnesota West Saturday after Friday’s win over Riverland.

“Closing out the regular season strongly with two wins is a great way to head into playoffs,” Spartans head coach Abby Crowser said. “This weekend was so much fun with our Dig Pink game for Breast Cancer on Friday and recognizing and acknowledging our sophomores on Saturday. We have been focusing lately on playing with more energy and enthusiasm and you could definitely see a difference in how we played this week. We are looking forward to competing in Rochester for the upcoming Regional playoffs.”

The Spartans were strong from the service line as Alexis Heisler (4), Bailey Marty (3), Sierra Jenson (3) and Taylor Berndt (2) each recorded multiple aces in the win. Katherine Mastey led M State on the attack with 13 kills, while Sydney Hovland notched 38 digs.
