The M State volleyball team rallied from two sets down Wednesday to defeat the visiting St. Cloud Tech Cyclones 25-17, 21-25, 15-25, 25-15, 15-5.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere in the gym tonight,” Spartans head coach Abby Crowser. said “We were excited to have our home opener and the crowd really helped because we knew this match against St. Cloud was going to be a battle. The team also did an excellent job of refocusing when we needed it most and they took complete control in the fourth and fifth set. Everyone on the team contributed to make the win possible.”
Katherine Mastey led the Spartans in kills with 20, while teammate Hannah Eske added 11 of her own. Bailey Marty had a big night on defense as she recorded 31 digs. Taylor Berndt (17), Sierra Jenson (13) and Sydney Hovland (10) were also in double figures in digs.
The Spartans will continue their homestand as they welcome in Western Technical College at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
