M State would not go into half time without a score as Irving Friedman made a 24-yard field goal, putting the Spartans down a touchdown at the break.

Fond du Lac took control in the second half as they scored 17 points in the third quarter and nine in the fourth quarter.

The Thunder saw Quri Hickman and Justice Bice rush for a touchdown, while teammates Mason Klinger and Eric Grant each pulled in a score.

The Spartans were led on the ground by Joel Dorjuste as he rushed for 75 yards on seven carries. Peyton Pruett led all Spartan passers going 3-for-9 with 11 yards.

The Spartans will look to rebound as they welcome in the Itasca Vikings for a 1:30 p.m. Saturday showdown.
