FRAZEE — In a battle of Heart O’Lakes Conference rivals, the Frazee volleyball team bested Pelican Rapids in five sets 19-25, 27-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-13 Thursday.

“This entire match was filled with excited and grit and I was extremely proud of how these girls responded tonight,” Vikings head coach Heidi Isaman said. “The Vikings played well as a team and our defense continues to get better and better each game.  Our offense took control more tonight that we have been able to do up to now and our aggressive serving was very impressive.  This was a great game of volleyball on both ends.”

Ryley Paulson and Greta Tollefson had strong performances from the service line as each recorded six aces. Tollefson would also lead the team in kills with 14, while Paulson (28), Anna Stephenson (16) and Riley Berg (14) were in double figures in digs.

The Vikings will look to right the sail as they return home to take on New York Mills at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
