GRACEVILLE — A solid team effort Tuesday night allowed the visiting Underwood boys’ basketball team to take home a 62-47 victory over Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.
The Rockets stifled the Wolverines offense and went into the break with a 37-19 lead. In the second half, the home team outscored their guests but it would be too little too late.
“This was a great overall team win to start the season,” Rockets head coach Evan Meece said. “I’m really proud of the way the team played together and got the victory.”
The Rockets saw five players in double figures with Canaan Kugler (15) leading the way. Winston Heifort (13), Braden Thorson (13), Krosby Aasness (11) and Logan Nelson (10) were also in double digits.
The Rockets will now travel Highway 210 as they take on the Henning Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
