UNDERWOOD — The Rockets hosted Wheaton Monday defeating the Warriors in five hard-fought sets 3-2 (22-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-8).

Wheaton is a strong, scrappy team. They frustrated our hitters with their blocks and by digging everything we hit at them.  It caused us to play inconsistently and we made a lot of unforced errors,” said Rockets head coach Breck Grove.  “It was good to see our girls persevere when things weren't going our way.  In the last sets we finally got some rhythm and things started going our way.”

Stat leaders for the Rockets were Ezrah Baker (16 kills, 1 ace, 2 assists, 18 digs, 2 blocks), Elizabeth Lukken (11 kills, 2 assists, 17 digs, 2 blocks), Alayna Evavold (10 kills, 3 assists, 1 ace, 7 digs, 5 blocks), Kallyn Grove (10 kills, 39 assists, 3 aces, 13 digs, 2 blocks), Chloe Mark (9 kills, 3 assists, 4 digs, 2 blocks) and Brianna Evavold (1 kill, 4 assists 17 digs).

The Rockets hit the court again Tuesday (Oct. 5) on the road against Hillcrest at 7:15 p.m.
