MOORHEAD — What looked like would be a back and forth showdown the Rothsay football team used a second-half surge to down the Park Christian Falcons 44-13 Friday.
With the game 16-13 in favor of Rothsay, the Tigers added another touchdown before the half to take a two-score lead before the break. Rothsay would add a few more touchdowns in the second half as they picked up a road win.
“Our line played extremely well,” Tigers head coach Joshua Nordick said. “We finally got healthy and were able to rotate some guys in. I was pleased that we could take advantage to our size and experience. Our seniors played well.”
Jacob Christ rushed for 238 yards in the game, while teammate Colby Larson had 58 rushing yards on 10 attempts. Defensively, Ethan Curtis picked off a pass, Jeff Kulack recovered a fumble, and Parker Keep recorded a sack. Christ led the team with nine tackles, eight of which were solo efforts.
The Tigers will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross at 7 p.m. Friday.
