West Central Area senior Brynn Fernholz  has a lot of pride in her school competing in cross country, basketball and track, the senior has found success in each of the sports. We spoke with Fernholz about her favorite high school sports memory and why sports are important to her.

In an back and forth game, the visiting West Central Area volleyball team picked up a four-set (25-12, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18) win over the Hillcrest Comets Tuesday.

HANCOCK — The West Central Area volleyball team played strong defense, but the hosting Hancock Owls found the floor in a three-set win (25-17, 25-12, 26-24) Thursday.

BARRETT — A strong effort by the Brandon-Evansville volleyball team saw the Chargers sweep the hosting West Central Area Knights 25-13, 25-7, 25-22 Monday.

BARRETT — The West Central Area/Ashby football team ran into a nearly full-strength Barnesville Trojans Friday as the visitor left with a 41-0 victory.

MOORHEAD — In a battle of unbeaten teams, the one that takes advantage of mistakes usually comes out victorious. On Saturday, the saying held true as the Breckenridge Cowboys took advantage of six West Central Area Knight turnovers on the way to a 40-8 victory.

UNDERWOOD — After a slow start, the Underwood volleyball team found its groove as the Rockets recorded a three-set sweep (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) over the West Central Area Knights Wednesday.

BARRETT — A back and forth battle Wednesday saw the visiting Wheaton Warriors upend the West Central Area Knights volleyball team in five sets 25-15, 17-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11.

The West Central Area cross country teams successfully ran their first-ever home meet Friday as both the Knight boys and girls traversed the course for the victory as they hosted Breckenridge/Wahpeton and United North Central.
