WHEATON — The West Central Area volleyball team fought hard in four tight sets but it was the hosting Wheaton Warriors that came out with a 25-19, 22-25, 26-24, 25-23 victory Thursday.

In an back and forth game, the visiting West Central Area volleyball team picked up a four-set (25-12, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18) win over the Hillcrest Comets Tuesday.

HANCOCK — The West Central Area volleyball team played strong defense, but the hosting Hancock Owls found the floor in a three-set win (25-17, 25-12, 26-24) Thursday.

BARRETT — A strong effort by the Brandon-Evansville volleyball team saw the Chargers sweep the hosting West Central Area Knights 25-13, 25-7, 25-22 Monday.

BARRETT — The West Central Area/Ashby football team ran into a nearly full-strength Barnesville Trojans Friday as the visitor left with a 41-0 victory.

BARRETT — The West Central Area volleyball team hosted the Minnewaska Lakers Thursday. A tough Lakers team topped the hosting Knights in four sets.

The West Central Area volleyball team battled its way through three tight sets Tuesday as the Knights topped the Parkers Prairie Panthers 26-24, 25-23, 26-23.

MOORHEAD — In a battle of unbeaten teams, the one that takes advantage of mistakes usually comes out victorious. On Saturday, the saying held true as the Breckenridge Cowboys took advantage of six West Central Area Knight turnovers on the way to a 40-8 victory.



UNDERWOOD — After a slow start, the Underwood volleyball team found its groove as the Rockets recorded a three-set sweep (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) over the West Central Area Knights Wednesday.

BARRETT — A back and forth battle Wednesday saw the visiting Wheaton Warriors upend the West Central Area Knights volleyball team in five sets 25-15, 17-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11.

BATTLE LAKE — The hosting Battle Lake volleyball team cruised to a three-set victory over the West Central Area Knights Thursday in the season opener 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.

The West Central Area cross country teams successfully ran their first-ever home meet Friday as both the Knight boys and girls traversed the course for the victory as they hosted Breckenridge/Wahpeton and United North Central.

PELICAN RAPIDS — The West Central Area Knights cross country teams showed up for their second meet of the season as Lexi Bright and Kyle Schill both won the varsity races with their entourage right behind them.

MOORHEAD — The West Central Area boys’ basketball team celebrated winning the South Subsection 6A championship Monday as the Knights topped the Hancock Owls 68-47 at Concordia College.

MORRIS — The West Central Area boys’ basketball got an early jump on the Ashby Arrows in a Section 6A playoff game Saturday. The Knights would close out with a 73-55 victory at the University of Minnesota - Morris.

MORRIS — The Henning girls’ basketball team punched its ticket to the Class A state tournament Friday as they rallied past the West Central Area Knights to claim the Section 6A title 56-50 Friday at the University of Minnesota - Morris.

MORRIS — The West Central Area and Underwood girls’ basketball team had a back-and-forth battle Saturday as the two teams took the court against each other in the Pheasant Conference Showcase. The Knights would be the victor in the game as they defeated the Rockets 57-53.

UPSALA — The West Central Area boys’ basketball team laid claim to a 69-54 victory over Upsala Tuesday.

BARRETT — The West Central Area boys’ basketball team cruised to a 71-24 victory over Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Friday.

The Hillcrest girls’ basketball team struggled on the defensive end Tuesday as the visiting West Central Area Knights took home a 61-29 win.

HANCOCK — The West Central Area boys’ team would convert 13 3-pointers and play suffocating defense in a 73-44 Pheasant Conference victory over the Hancock Owls Tuesday.

The Fergus Falls wrestling team welcome in West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville for its Parent’s Night matchup Tuesday. The Knights would take control of the meet early as they defeated the Otters 67-12.

BARRETT — The West Central Area girls’ basketball team recorded its eighth win of the season as the Knights defeated Brandon-Evansville 61-55 Tuesday.

BARRETT — Playing a fast-paced game, the West Central Area boys’ basketball team recorded its eighth win of the season as the Knights topped Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 59-37 Saturday.
