The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle crash that injured two  Thursday at 4:57 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 5 and Miltona Bay Road.

According to the report, law enforcement arrived on scene to discover a full-sized pickup on its side. The truck, driven by Isaac Roers, 20, of Brandon, and passengers, Gavin Swenson, 20,  and Bailey Wessale, 18, both of Alexandria, were traveling westbond on the county road when it left the roadway and struck an embankment on Miltona Bay Road. The vehicle became airborne before coming to a rest.

Roers and Swenson were able to exit the vehicle, while Wessale was partially ejected and needed to be extricated with the assistance of the Carlos Fire Department.

Wessale was flown from the scene to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital with serious injuries, while Swenson was taken by ambulance to Alomere Health in Alexandria with nonlife-threatening injuries. Both Wessale and Swenson were not wearing seat belts. Roers was uninjured in the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
